Computer Lessons

Computer Services have many years experience of giving private computer lessons.

All of our lessons are tailored to your needs whether you are a complete beginner (of any age) or re-familiarising yourself with aspects of your PC's software.

Learning at home

People learn in different ways and training is therefore more effective if it is tailored to the individual. We like to get to know our students, and so the first lesson will be spent exploring what you know right now. We have male & female tutors available who are qualified and have enhanced CRB disclosures.

Do you know how to turn the PC on and off?

Can you access the internet and your email?

Right click; left click; keyboard shortcuts; save; save as. It's all very confusing for the first time user of a PC.

Would you know how to talk on Skype to your grandchildren in Australia - for free?

Maybe you need help with organising your documents; or linking one document to another.

Our students all have their own reasons for wanting to know more. Some to increase their career prospects, others to stay in touch with family and share photos and videos. Whatever your reasons are Computer Services can help. We teach on a one-to-one basis, working at your pace, on your PC or laptop. Homework is set and we actively encourage you to use your new found skills.

Knowing YOUR Computer

With tuition on your own PC / Laptop you know that what you learn is going to work on your computer, and any course material or assignments are appropriate for you and your software version.

Clear, concise, jargon free handouts can also be supplied.

There are many advantages to home computer tuition. Our clients benefit from stress-free, personal lessons in their own homes at a time convenient to them.

An excellent place to start for beginners is the BBC Webwise Computer Tutor.

Silver Surfers

We are proud supporters of the "Silver Surfers",
(Definition: An elderly person who regularly uses the Internet),
believing that everyone should have access to the benefits of owning a computer. Age UK have an excellent article for senior beginners needing computer training. They explain in simple terms how to start to make the most of the internet.
